The federal government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has declared Wednesday, June 12, as a public holiday to honor this year’s Democracy Day. Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement, encouraging Nigerians to uphold the principles of democratic governance.
In a statement issued by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the permanent secretary of the ministry, and shared via the ministry’s official X handle (formerly Twitter) @MinOfInteriorNG, Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to the citizens. He highlighted President Tinubu’s dedication to implementing reforms aimed at revitalizing the economy and improving national security.
Tunji-Ojo urged all Nigerians and friends of the country to recognize the progress achieved and remain optimistic about the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
