The Federal Government has announced that Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, will be public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.
This announcement was made by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, through a statement released on Friday in Abuja. She conveyed that the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.
In his message, the minister extended his congratulations to the Muslim community both within the country and abroad on this special occasion.
Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim Ummah to embrace the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also encouraged them to use this period to pray for the nation’s unity, prosperity, and stability.
“The Minister emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.
“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful Eid-ul-Adha, the Minister also called on all Nigerians to contribute to ensuring a prosperous future for our children,” the statement concluded.
